Coach Tidwell is an Austin native with a strong Christian belief. He grew up in Leander, Texas where he played high school baseball. While playing at Leander High School, Coach Tidwell received the Gary Winston Faubion Scholarship Award for the Outstanding Baseball Player. During the summer after his senior year, he was invited to two pro tryouts in the Austin area and an invitation only tryout in Busch Stadium for the St. Louis Cardinals. He earned a scholarship and went on to play at Ranger College for two years as a pitcher, then went on to play at St. Edwards University as a third baseman. After college Coach Tidwell tore a tendon in his elbow which took him on a different path and he became an Austin Firefighter in 1998 which he still is today. Coach Tidwell is a familiar face around our campus. He was a co-coach of the 2017 girls softball team which made it to the Final Four in the State Playoffs.
Coach Tidwell is excited and looking forward to this upcoming baseball season.
