Dual Credit Courses

A dual credit course is one in which the student earns both high school credit from CHS and college credit from a partnering college or university.

Dual credit courses are currently available in:

Communications

English IV

Government

Principles of Engineering

Public Speaking

U.S. History

All dual credit courses at CHS are graded on a 5.0 scale. Since dual credit courses are in fact college courses, they typically go into greater depth and cover more material than standard high school courses. Depending on the course, dual credit students may be required to complete additional work above and beyond that of their non-dual credit classmates. Therefore, the decision to take one of these courses should not be entered into lightly.  Due to the nature of these courses, students must meet all grade and GPA requirements to be considered for admittance into a dual credit course.
