Mrs. Gabelmann

Suzan Gabelmann is currently serving CHS as a STAR/resource teacher. She has been teaching for 20 years, the last five at CHS. She initially left teaching when her first child was born, but returned to teaching when that baby grew up and went off to college. She is a second generation Lumberjack, where her parents met at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, receiving both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. The greatest influence growing up was from her mother.

Her first job was working at a local craft store making a whopping $2/hr, which was minimum wage at the time. Her favorite quote is “Not my circus, not my monkeys!”

On her reading list right now is “If These Walls Could Talk” by Lucy Worsley. She is currently collecting finials and antique glass, while other collections have come and gone over the years. If she could live anywhere she would choose London where there are a LOT of finials and antique glass to be discovered.
