Mr. Winkelman

While Tristan Winkelman has been on our coaching staff for several years, we are glad to now have him as a student teacher for our history classes, doing his teaching practicum this spring here at CHS. And Tristan is a Cardinal himself, so we are doubly blessed to have him teaching here! As a child, he attended Zion Lutheran Church and School in Walburg. He started his college years at Oklahoma State but felt God calling him to Lutheran Education, so he switched to Concordia UniversityTexas where he is a senior.

Tristan is reading "Wild at Heart" by John Eldgredge. This book talks about how God created man and how Eldgredge invites men to discover their masculine heart which is defined in the image of a passionate God. Tristan highly recommends this book!

For a fun hobby, he collects sports cards, primarily rookie cards of current players. Also, he collects vintage NBA jerseys and is trying to get one from each team-currently up to 11.

Sports are a big draw for him, so his bucket list includes seeing a Super Bowl, the NBA Finals, the World Series, the Masters, as well as many other sports events. He also wants to visit all 30 MLB stadiums and NBA arenas. There is plenty more on his bucket list, but just know that he wants to experience all of the big things in life!!

If he could eat at just one place for the rest of his days: Velvet Taco.
