Mrs.Lisa Fitzgerald M.A.

Lisa Fitzgerald is a freespirited lifelong learner; as a toddler she would toss books in her crib rather than stuffed animals and still reads voraciously.  After playing teacher as a 4th grader and later being named National Merit and one of 12 Texas Scholar Athletes by the Dallas Cowboys as a teen, Lisa studied to be a high school teacher at Concordia University Nebraska also studying at Oak Hill, Park and Yale.  Lisa hopes that her masters in Communication (2010) will open doors for CHS students who can take dual credit Communication and Speech in a Christ-centered atmosphere.  She has taught at three Christian high schools, five Austin-area public schools, and as an adjunct professor with ACC for the past 10 years.  Hobbies include digging holes, making homemade pizza with her garden’s basil and tomatoes, ocean-walking and teaching Sunday school and Bible studies at her church.  Lisa’s heart for CHS began before the school had its first student.  In 2000, she used prize money and hourly earnings at HEB to become a founder of then Concordia Academy.  She was drawn to the vision of what CHS would become in central Texas, never dreaming it would one day impact her own brother, the Godparents of her children, and eventually her own sons and daughter as well.  Lisa still knows that CHS is where the teens we love the most should be.

Why?

CHS remains committed to high-caliber academics, character-building athletics, first-class fine arts, and fostering a humble, Christ-centered community. Lisa, who taught CHS’s first graduating class in 2006, cherishes early memories like mission trips with students. Inspired by the founding principal’s “WE—IT: Whatever It Takes” philosophy, she believes CHS is unique in how its united faculty shapes each student’s heart, mind, and strength.

The CHS faculty works cohesively to ensure no student is overlooked, supporting each one individually. This unity helps students grow in empathy, self-advocacy, and time management while experiencing the infinite mercy of Christ. CHS prepares students to contribute meaningfully, connect globally, and anticipate the second coming of the King of Heaven.
