See the World Anew

Whether mixing the perfect color on the palette, creating the illusion of reality with just a paper and pencil, or building something unique out of unlikely materials, visual artists learn how to see the world in a new way. They are able to break down what they are seeing or what they want to see, and then create that vision to share with others. Concordia has a strong history of encouraging students to explore their creativity in the visual arts in various media, often winning recognition for their efforts in the TAPPS Art competition each Spring. Photography & Media Arts

Show the World Your Vision

Since its beginnings in the 19th century, photography has been seen as a way to record the world around us, often showing it from perspectives we might miss in our everyday walks through life. Our students learn and apply the skills to take good photographs from the start, then how to edit them and use them in various contexts such as our yearbook, website, and social media. Our brand new student media team is specifically tasked with creating digital content to keep our community informed, a highly useful skill in today’s world! Meet our Photography Teacher and Media Team Director.
