Mrs. Suzan Gabelmann M.Ed

Suzan Gabelmann currently serves CHS as a STAR/resource teacher and instructor for the “Adulting” course. She has been teaching in some capacity since 1982, totaling an impressive 43 years of experience—10 of which have been dedicated to CHS.

CHS holds a special place in Mrs. Gabelmann's heart, not only because she teaches here, but also because her daughter and son graduated from CHS in 2015 and 2017, respectively.

A second-generation Lumberjack, Mrs. Gabelmann earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, where her parents first met. Growing up, her mother was her greatest influence, and Mrs. Gabelmann strives to pass on those values and lessons to her students through her “Adulting” course.

Her first job was at a local craft store, earning $2 an hour—the minimum wage at the time. She enjoys sharing her favorite saying, “Not my circus, not my monkeys!”
